Celebrating all things aeronautical in the north of the British Isles, the Highland Aviation Museum collection is situated on part of the former RAF Dalcross, adjacent to Inverness Airport main passenger terminal.

The Museum has an impressive Visitors’ Centre that tells the story of the area’s aviation heritage – both civil and military – through a series of well laid out information boards and artefacts. As well as being a good recreational asset, the museum has a strong educational message with its displays on local history and aviation in the greater area.

The Museum is divided into two sections: The Jet Age Section features information displays, artefact collections and also includes displays on the Nimrod and Tornado (based nearby at RAF Kinloss and RAF Lossiemouth). The Aviation History Section reflects on the first flight in the Highlands in 1912; Aviation pioneer Captain Fresson; RAF Aircrew/Airfield History and activity during WWII in the Highlands & Islands.
